I have asked my Higher Power to share Her Infinite Strength with you and your family. She has never let me down. I expect She can be of assistance to you and yours as well.

Godspeed, Chris.

May your friends and family find comfort in the love for you and your talent, from around the world.

Jesse Dayton just sent me the sad news...

We'll always remember the good times. The last time you were in Houston, a Sunday spent at the Shady Grove Tavern with Rosie Flores and friends. Valeria smoked your Marlboros all afternoon, and yet you were kind enough to share.
A life is made up of good days, like that.

Play on, forever.....

Dear Julie-
I knew Chris in the 70's when he was with phantom herd--some of my best memories. My husband at the time, Danny and I were there --it seemed every night. Youth will let you do that. I've slowed down considerably since then. I saw Chris maybe 4 or 5 years ago--- 30 plus years ago,he let my daughter Laila borrow his saxaphone for some lessons and after all these years, I finally returned it. And again, because of Chris's warmth and sometimes over my head humor ----he created another wonderful moment in my life. He was so hospitable and warm--like no time had passed and so sweet when he talked about you. I went away thinking--How happy he is and how lucky that he really followed his passion and I'm sure you were part of his inspiration.
I have been reading alot of comments, and how wonderful that he touched so may souls and really made a difference in people's lives. I hope he knew how loved he was.

I regret that I am a procrastinator-- I kept thinking one of these days I was going to go see him play and I waited too long. I hope I've learned my lesson.
Anyway, I know I haven't told you anything you didn't already know. I just wanted to tell you that I am so sorry and I pray for You, Chris and your family --that you will take joy in Chris and his unique personality--he was like no other and he will always be with you. I wish you all the best--God Bless You
Love Janet

Dear Julie,
I am so very sorry you have lost the love of your life. I know what you are going through since I also have lost my love Nick. He passed away on March 7 2007 at the age of 57 from liver cancer. so many similarties.
I remember listening to Chris at the train station in Orange and calling Jan (UpBeat)on the phone so she could hear him sing.
We have lost so many wonderful people.
Chris was a very special man. He was kind and caring. And will be missed by so many.
He is in good company with all the dear family and friends who have gone before him
Take care Julie.
I am thinking of you.
